Insta360’s winter update overview brings together X5’s InstaFrame 2.0, new shooting accessories and changes to its mobile editing app. Follow View can track other people in the frame, extending subject selection beyond the person holding the selfie stick[1].
InstaFrame 2.0 supports 4K30fps flat video with AdaptiveTone. Enabling 360 Video Backup instead records a ready-to-share 1080p30fps flat clip alongside a 5.7K30fps 360 recording for later reframing. A Virtual Joystick provides real-time control of the composition, while Virtual Gimbal offers Pitch Lock, Follow and FPV modes.
The Free Framing Selfie Stick adds direct controls for framing, tracking and recording on X5. It includes a Vertical-Horizontal Mount, extends to 33cm and has a built-in tripod. The X5 Photography Grip connects over USB-C and provides a mechanical shutter button; QuickCapture lets it trigger a photo even when the camera is off. The overview also lists X5 ND128 filters and an Everyday Crossbody Bag designed to carry an X Series camera with a selfie stick attached[1].
On the editing side, FlashCut adds snow-sports templates. Stats Dashboard can present aggregated speed, distance and elevation data for an entire session, with revised overlay layouts.
