Insta360 released version 2.0 of its app on April 30, 2025, rebuilding the Album and Preview pages and adding a set of AI-assisted editing tools[1]. The Album page now arranges videos in a grid so more files fit on screen, and thumbnails are larger. For 360 footage, AI selects specific highlights in the thumbnails, which the company says makes standout moments quicker to find.
The Preview page now hosts editing, reframing and AI tools. In Editor, Frame Cut lets users pick one or more segments and go straight into editing, after which they can add the Stats Dashboard or turn to FlashCut's advanced options. A new Record feature reframes footage by tilting the phone, and can be combined with swiping gestures and keyframes; clips can be previewed and exported immediately. Keyframes have been streamlined so they can be added right after recording, with perspective and field of view adjusted by touch gestures and keyframes placed with a tap[1].
Auto Edit uses AI to add music, camera moves and transitions automatically, and its output can be mixed with manual edits. Preset Perspectives includes AI Frame, which picks a view of highlights automatically, plus one-tap locking of forward or selfie angles aimed at action sports and selfies. New FOV options add Dewarp, which removes the fisheye effect with a tap, and Zoom, with a slider plus Tiny Planet and Narrow presets[1].
