Insta360 announced the X5 on April 22, 2025, adding a replaceable lens system to its flagship 360 camera.[1] The lenses use a new high-strength, scratch-resistant glass, and damaged ones can be swapped on the spot with the Replacement Lens Kit rather than sent for repair. The camera is available to order the same day through the Insta360 Official Store, Amazon and authorized retailers, starting at US$549.99 in the US.
The X5 uses two 1/1.28" sensors that are 144% larger than the X4's, paired with a Triple AI Chip system made up of one 5nm AI chip and two Pro Imaging chips. It records 360 video at 8K30fps with supersampling from 11K, and adds PureVideo, an AI-based mode for low light.[1] Active HDR now reaches 5.7K60fps.
Insta360 also added InstaFrame, which records an auto-framed flat video for immediate sharing alongside a full 360 clip. The body has a built-in multi-layer steel mesh wind guard, a 2400mAh battery rated at up to 185 minutes in 5.7K Endurance Mode, 0-80% charging in 20 minutes, and IP68 waterproofing to 49ft (15m). The Insta360 app was also revised with new editing tools.[1]
