On September 18, 2025, Insta360 introduced the X5 Invisible Dive Case Pro, a new underwater housing for the X5 built on the design of the original Invisible Dive Case[1]. The Pro version uses a different optical lens design intended to compensate for distortion caused by light refraction underwater, which Insta360 says produces sharper detail and truer color, particularly in clear water and close-up shots.
With the case attached, the X5 can shoot down to 164 ft (50 m). Combined with the invisible selfie stick effect, Insta360 says the setup enables third-person-style 360 shots underwater without a second operator[1].
The original Invisible Dive Case remains available for casual users: it is rated to 197 ft (60 m), weighs 200 g (7.1 oz) and is priced at US$99.99. The Pro model weighs 420 g (14.8 oz) and is priced at US$119.99. Insta360 notes the Pro's larger size and weight make it less convenient to travel with, positioning it for regular divers and content creators who prioritize image quality[1].
