Insta360 announced the Flow 2 on June 26, a smartphone gimbal positioned as a more accessible, all-in-one entry in its Flow lineup[1]. The Standard Bundle starts at $109.99 and the AI Tracker Bundle at $129.99, sold through the Insta360 Store, Amazon and global retailers. Founder JK Liu said the goal was to make smartphone shooting easier for more people while keeping the hardware portable.
The gimbal weighs roughly 348g without the 25g magnetic phone clamp and folds to 97.9 x 178.4 x 36.7mm. It includes a 207mm built-in selfie stick and a metal tripod that opens to a diameter of 204mm, plus an 1100mAh battery rated for 10 hours that can also charge a phone. NFC One-Tap Shooting skips Bluetooth pairing on supported phones and opens the Insta360 app's capture screen; Android users can optionally have unfolding the gimbal launch the native camera instead[1].
Deep Track 4.0 handles subject identification and group tracking, and Active Zoom Tracking keeps a moving subject framed. A Pro Framing Grid offers nine preset compositions, and the gimbal can be controlled from an Apple Watch or a second phone. The optional AI Tracker, included in the AI Tracker Bundle, extends subject tracking to third-party apps and adds a built-in spotlight. Compared with the Flow 2 Pro, it omits the selfie mirror, tracking ring light, transparent motor design, Apple DockKit native tracking, 360 Infinite Pan Tracking and Free Tilt Mode. Insta360 also introduced the Mic Air microphone, which Flow 2 supports, and a teleprompter mode in its app that scrolls a loaded script during recording; an AI editing suite can trim and polish clips afterward.
