Insta360 details Snap magnetic selfie screens for phone rear cameras
Insta360's new Snap display clips magnetically to a phone and shows a live preview so users can see themselves while shooting with the rear camera.

Insta360 described Snap in an official post dated April 8, 2026, a compact magnetic monitor that attaches to the back of a smartphone and provides a real-time preview, so users can see themselves while shooting selfies and vlogs with the rear camera[1]. The line includes two models: Snap Selfie Screen and Snap Selfie Screen with Light, the latter adding adjustable illumination.
Snap connects over a USB-C cable with no pairing and no separate charging; Insta360 cites latency as low as 30 ms[1]. The touchscreen mirrors the phone display, allowing users to adjust settings and control camera functions, and a one-tap mirror mode flips the preview for a more natural selfie perspective. It works with the built-in camera app and major third-party camera and editing apps. A thin body, a two-in-one cover that protects the screen and folds back to reduce accidental touches, and one-handed handling round out the design.
The light-equipped version was developed with AMIRO, which specializes in professional makeup optics, and lets users adjust color and brightness for even lighting in dim restaurants or against backlit windows. Founder JK Liu said the goal was to address a simple, familiar problem: a phone's best camera sits on the back, yet you cannot see yourself while using it.
