Insta360 announced and released GO Ultra on August 21, 2025, a compact wearable camera in the GO series[1]. The Standalone Camera weighs 53g, is roughly smartwatch-sized, and has a built-in magnetic base so it can cling to metal surfaces or pair with mounts for hands-free recording.
Imaging is the headline change. The 1/1.28-inch sensor is 221% larger than its predecessor, and combined with a 5nm AI chip it supports 4K60fps video, plus PureVideo for low-light shooting and an Active HDR mode. A new ambient light sensor calibrates color in real time and reduces flicker[1]. The Standalone Camera carries IPX8 waterproofing rated to 10m (33ft) underwater.
Battery life is quoted at 70 minutes for the Standalone Camera alone and about 200 minutes with the Action Pod attached; fast charging brings it to 80% in 12 minutes. Unlike the GO 3S and its fixed internal storage, GO Ultra uses removable microSD cards up to 2TB. The Action Pod has a 2.5-inch flip touchscreen and receives a live feed from the camera over Bluetooth.
GO Ultra is sold through the Insta360 Store, Amazon and select retailers worldwide. The Standard Bundle is priced at US$449.99 in Midnight Black or Arctic White and includes the Standalone Camera, Action Pod, Quick Release Safety Cord, Magnetic Easy Clip, Magnet Pendant, USB-C cable and Lens Guard[1].
Documented accessories include the Pivot Mount, Flexi Strap Mount, Sticky Tabs and the Toddler Titan Hat Clip, described for third-person and wearable angles. The free Insta360 app handles editing, with Auto Edit and data overlays such as GPS, heart rate and speed synced from Strava or third-party devices.
