Below is every X5 and X6 version on Insta360's download pages, newest first, with its date and main changes. The change notes are Insta360's, shortened. We leave out the "routine stability improvements" line unless that is all a version did. New versions get added here. Last checked 11 October 2026.
Where the dates come from
Insta360's download page shows a date only for the newest version. Older versions sit under "Version history" without one, so for those we use the release dates in the data the same page loads. Insta360 also announced the two biggest X5 updates on its blog: the Summer Update (v1.3.0) and the 2025 Winter Update (v1.7.43).
How to update
The easy way is the Insta360 app: connect the camera and the app offers the update. Some versions need a minimum app version, noted below.
Insta360's X5 manual also describes a computer route. Download the file from the download page, connect the X5 by USB-C in File Transfer mode, copy Insta360X5FW.bin to the camera's root folder without renaming it, then unplug. The camera installs the update and restarts by itself. Charge it to at least 20% first.
