Insta360 Ace Pro 3: what the record shows so far
A dated timeline of every Ace Pro 3 filing and leak, with the source for each. Insta360 has not announced the camera.
Not announced. Insta360 has not put out a launch date, a spec sheet or a product page for an Ace Pro 3. One official record does name the camera: an FCC equipment authorization granted to Arashi Vision, the company behind Insta360, on 29 September 2026. Nobody with a source has put a launch date on it.
This page puts what is on the record in date order, with the source for each entry. Rumors without a source are marked as such. We add entries when something new turns up.
Timeline
29 September 2026: FCC grant names the Ace Pro 3
The FCC granted equipment authorization 2AWWH-CINSABUA to Arashi Vision Inc. Its Notes field names the product as Insta360 Ace Pro 3. It covers a Part 15 spread spectrum transmitter in the 2402–2480MHz range.
The exhibit list keeps the external photos, internal photos and user manual confidential until 29 March 2027. That date is about the filing documents, not a launch date. The grant gives no sales schedule. Our report: Insta360 Ace Pro 3 named in FCC authorization for CINSABUA.
Late August 2026: half-year report, still in development
Insta360 is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market. Its annual and half-year reports include a table of R&D projects, and one row is a "next-generation action camera" (新一代运动相机). The filing describes a flagship action camera built on AI image processing, with better high-resolution recording, improved stabilization and AI editing, for single-lens footage of cycling, diving, surfing, skiing, off-roading and climbing.
In the 2026 half-year report (Chinese PDF) the project was still in development on 30 June. The planned budget is more than twice the figure in the annual report, and Insta360 spent about as much on the project in the first half of 2026 as in all of 2025. In the same table, projects that have shipped are marked as launched. This one is not.
8 to 10 August 2026: a spec list with no source
Photo Rumors posted a list of Ace Pro 3 specs on 8 August. The main items:
- a 1-inch, 50MP sensor with Leica color tuning (the Ace Pro 2 has a 1/1.3-inch sensor)
- 8K at 30fps, 10-bit 4K at 120fps, 1080p at 240fps
- waterproof to 16 m without a case, about 185 g
- a possible dual-camera "Ultra" version
The post does not say where any of this came from. IT Home ran the same list the next day and credited Photo Rumors. TechNode then credited IT Home. That is three outlets and one unnamed origin. Treat the numbers as guesses until a named source or a filing backs them.
April 2026: annual report lists the project
The 2025 annual report (Chinese PDF, April 2026) shows the next-generation action camera project in development.
The filing does not name the camera or give a date, and it says project budgets are revised as plans change. Calling it the Ace Pro 3 is our reading, not Insta360's. Our reasons: Insta360's single-lens action cameras are the Ace and GO lines, the GO line has its own row in the same table (a "next-generation wearable camera"), and Insta360 calls the Ace Pro 2 its flagship action camera.
January 2026: an earlier spec list
Daily Camera News had a similar spec list in January 2026, also without a source.
March 2025: Leica partnership extended
The Ace Pro and Ace Pro 2 were co-engineered with Leica. In March 2025 Insta360 said it had extended the partnership and that more products would follow, without naming any. Leica color on the next Ace Pro fits that, but it is also the easiest guess to make.
2023 to 2025: the Ace Pro release pattern
Insta360 launched the Ace Pro on 21 November 2023 and the Ace Pro 2 on 22 October 2024. There was no new Ace Pro in 2025. The Ace Pro 2 got a Marc Márquez edition in June and four new bundles in November instead.
When will it come out?
Nobody with a source has said. The dates going around, late 2026 or the first half of 2027, come with no source. The record shows a development project that was still running at the end of June 2026 and an FCC grant from 29 September 2026. The March 2027 date in the FCC exhibit list is when the confidential documents become public, not a launch date.
How solid each piece is
- The FCC grant is an official record and names the camera. It says nothing about specs, price or timing.
- The R&D project comes from Insta360's own filings, which are as solid as sources get. The filings do not name the camera; tying the project to the Ace Pro is our inference.
- The spec lists name no source. Treat them as guesses.
What would change this page
- a teaser, invite or launch date from Insta360
- the confidential FCC exhibits (photos, manual) becoming public
- a named person or outlet with a record on Insta360 leaks
- the R&D project marked as launched in a later Insta360 report
